Oy. I am back

Without a lot of hubbub, I return to loyal blog subscribers who, if they haven't passed out from rolling their eyes so far back into their heads, are reading this entry and allowing me to apoligize for my absense.

Ok, so work has been a little bit busier at LTN than I expected. We launched Monday, and it has been a whirlwind of 70 hour weeks, weekend work, and lots of frustrations. But you know what? We got on the air and how, gues who voices some of the promos? Me! Crazy stuff huh? Yup, working here, I write jewels such as 'Hold on to your cojones', and 'We don't speak dorkinese here', and then they bestow the job of voice artist on me for certain shows. Wait til they find out my voice sounds like a kitten being beaten by a punk kid on his way to serial murderer status. That'll learn 'em to take any old girl off the street for a voice!

And what the hell is President Bush doign nominating a good ol' buddy of his to the Supreme Court when she's never been a judge before? Harriet Miers is a female. Yes. Sandra Day O'Connor was a female. Yes. Good parallel there Pres, but really, one had experience as a judge before playing with the big ones on the Supreme Court, and the other is Harriet Mier. We're not hiring employees for a rib shack here people.

Oh, everyone, if you sign up for the LTN Crew (ltnla.com) than you can get prizes and win appearances on our TV network, and invites to our party. That's pretty good.

And now that things have settled a bit more, yes, I will update more often.

Wow, you sound busy. I'll have to see if Dish Network caries the channel when I get it installed at my new place. I tried to sign up, but got a 404 error. I'll try later.

And as for the Bush Supreme Court Fiasco....what's with bush nominating people with no court experience? The last guy he nominated was only a lower-level judge for a couple of years. Judge Mills Lane has more experience than these people (w00t! go reno!). As long as nobody trys to overturn Roe v. Wade or make a national law banning gay marriage, I think I'll be ok with anyone (as long as they know what the hell they are doing), for the forseeable future.

She's alive! Glad to see you back. Your schedule sounds like mine, nothing but work and no free time at all.

welcome back Chi-lan. I don't know I think Supreme Court Justice time is always a rough time for either party not in power, because it comes so rarely. Any President wants the opportunity to elect a Supreme-Court-Justice-For-Life, and the seats have been more than their share of Liberal for a while, so it is time I suppose for a shift in the balance of power, it is always the President's right to pick who he wants, constitutionally. No one ever said he had to pick someone who has experience, I think the major prerequisite is someone who knows and respects the Constitution. You could have the greatest State court judge as a supreme court justice, that doesn't make him or her any better at interpreting the Constitution. As far as who Bush is picking, anyone who doesn't get to do it themselves is going to have a problem with who he picks, at least he isn't Truman, you know? As far as claims of Cronyism goes, sure "it" hasn't happened recently, but we are talking about a very big privilege here, and it doesn't happen very often. And let's not forget, there are no definitive requirements for a Supreme Court Justice, neither age, nor previous experience. Sure the choice to nominate someone who hasn't ever been a judge might raise some eyebrows, but if she really is terrible for the job, Senate can still refuse. Don't forget people, this is just a nomination. Anyway, sorry to be so argumentative, I just think that people should accept that any president who gets the opportunity is going to nominate someone he wants on the Supreme Court, not just Bush. Anyway, again, welcome back Chi-lan, I'm glad to see you posting again, and I hope to see more soon!
